OB Vetrano spricht von einem \u201eQuantensprung\u201c.<\/strong><\/p><p>Der Gemeinderat hat am Mittwochabend die Beteiligung der Stadt Kehl an der grenz\u00fcberschreitenden W\u00e4rmegesellschaft Calorie Kehl-Strasbourg beschlossen \u2013 mit rund 530 000 Euro. Bei dem innovativen Projekt soll die Abw\u00e4rme der Badischen Stahlwerke Kehl f\u00fcr Stra\u00dfburg genutzt werden.<\/p><p>Die geplante Gesellschaft Calorie Kehl-Strasbourg soll die grenz\u00fcberschreitende Leitung bauen und betreiben. Kein Energieversorger, sondern die \u00f6ffentliche Hand soll dies tun. Beteiligt sind unter anderem die Eurometropole de Strasbourg, die Region Grand Est, das Land Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg und jetzt eben die Stadt Kehl. Letztere mit fast 13 Prozent. Wie die Stadtverwaltung mitteilt, soll mehr als 24 Millionen Euro in das grenz\u00fcberschreitenden Vorhaben, inklusive Rheinunterquerung,\u00a0 investiert werden.\u00a0<\/p><p>Bei dem Vorzeigeprojekt wird in einer ersten Phase die bei den Badischen Stahlwerken anfallende Abw\u00e4rme, die sonst ungenutzt in der Atmosph\u00e4re entweicht, zur W\u00e4rmeversorgung Stra\u00dfburger Haushalte genutzt. Rund 4500 Haushalte profitieren davon. Mittelfristig ist nach Angaben der Stadtverwaltung ein Anschluss Kehler Liegenschaften im Bereich Hafen und dem Zollhof m\u00f6glich.\u00a0<\/p><p>10 000 Tonnen CO2 k\u00f6nnen durch das Projekt jedes\u00a0Jahr eingespart werden. Beim Endausbau sind es sogar 20 000 bis 30 000 Tonnen. In das Stra\u00dfburger Fernw\u00e4rmenetz werden rund 60 Gigawattstunden Abw\u00e4rme eingespeist und etwa 20 Gigawattstunden zum Holzpelletwerk in Kehl. Stra\u00dfburg will bis 2050 komplett mit erneuerbaren Energien und Abw\u00e4rme heizen.\u00a0<\/p><p>Wolfgang Maelger, Sprecher der Gr\u00fcnen-Fraktion im Gemeinderat, sprach von einem\u201eriesigen Fortschritt\u201c f\u00fcr die Umwelt in der deutsch-franz\u00f6sischen Region. Oberb\u00fcrgermeister Toni Vetrano (CDU) bezeichnete das Projekt als \u201eQuantensprung\u201c f\u00fcr die Energiewende in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. Im Dezember wurde bekannt, dass sich auch das Land am Projekt beteiligt \u2013 ebenfalls mit fast 13 Prozent oder mehr als eine halbe Million
