Trust is good. Certificates are better.

In Germany and Europe as a whole, safety-relevant construction products are subject to control and monitoring by independent monitoring bodies. Reinforcing steel, as an indispensable component of reinforced concrete structures and as a guarantee for the stability of the structures, is incredibly important among construction products. The manufacturer only receives the corresponding certificate if the construction supervisory authority certifies that both the reinforcing steel itself and the manufacturer’s QM system have to comply to the standards. After an initial inspection of the manufacturer, the monitoring is continued through regular external monitoring visits, which in turn is a prerequisite for receiving a certificate.
